Education
Lucia Mar Unified School District is San Luis Obispo County’s
largest school district. 10,960 students attend Lucia Mar’s eleven
elementary schools, three middle schools, two comprehensive high
schools, one continuation high school and adult education program.
LMUSD serves the adjoining communities of Arroyo Grande, Grover
Beach, Pismo Beach, Shell Beach, Nipomo and Oceano. Two great

Our county’s student population is less ethnically diverse than
the state, with 36% being non-white. The largest ethnic minority in our
schools is Hispanic with 28% as compared to the state with 47%.
